Wink announces two-year ski film and “Finding Equilibrium,” the first ever High Definition true multi-sport film!
“Wink Inc. has established itself as a leader in producing the finest quality HD ski films and TV programs in action sports and sports in general. We pride ourselves on the fact that our footage and content is both engaging and visually stunning and full of mind-blowing action. At Wink we feel like we have set the bar high, and intend to maintain our expectation of excellence and we will continually strive to push it higher,” said Jason Winkler, President of Wink Inc. “We are not under pressure to release a new film every year and we chose to take our time and produce a film we will be proud of, rather than pushing it on a marginal snow year.”
Winter 2007 saw average snowfall and well below average in most parts of the world which effected shooting around the world. “With lack of consistent snowpack in the US and Europe, we decided to push back our ski film. The footage from 2007 can be seen in its long form in our Nomads TV series on RushHD and National Geographic International in 146 countries around the world. The footage will also be thrown into the pot for next year’s film. We made this decision based on the standards we have created for our movies and what the core audience expects from us,” said Sasha Motivala, Lead Producer/Editor for Wink Inc, “We are excited to continue the production of high definition ski movies—as well as other sports—and want to deliver the best product available. Starting with the “Waiting Game,” followed by last year’s, “Respect,” we feel we have created a film series that demands the most stunning, high-caliber footage possible. We are stoked to move forward and feel the outcome will be worth the wait.”
With the success of its TV series, NOMADS—now in its third season—and with two ski films and a kayak film under their belt, Wink has decided to push the envelope again. In 2008, they will release the first ever ‘High Definition Action Sports Film’. Wink will combine several of the sports shot this year into a thought-provoking film that examines the lives and motivations of these incredible action sports athletes into a breathtaking exploration of “why we do what we do.” The film, “Finding Equilibrium” is shot in some of the world’s most remote locations. It is action intensive, and will be delivered in stunning true High Definition quality. “We are excited to embark on this mission and look forward to sharing these locales and the lives of these incredible athletes with our audiences around the world,” said Kina Pickett, director of marketing for Wink Inc.
